What is the point of all this?

Yes, it’s a fair question to ask.

It's fair to say the answer may still leave you scratching your head so I’ll keep it simply to this: in my darkest and most desperate moments, when I found myself looking to the heavens for a reason and a way to go on, from what seemed like out of nowhere, ideas about the universe, for which I had never really given much thought, began filling my head. They filled my head more and more to the point where they all combined into a story - a story that gave me hope, however faint, and thanks to the wonders of the internet, I discovered anyone can write a book and publish it online for the world to read.

So, I, Peter Doran, with next-to-no previous writing experience, was compelled to become an award-losing writer, and “Tom Miller’s Star-Born Universe” is the result. I should point out that AI did not play a part in my book, although you may wish it did if you were ever to begin reading it!

Check out the cover below. You’ll probably struggle to not judge my book by it. That’s okay. I’m still not sure if it’s the cover or the contents that express just how…,

Not surprisingly, very few people have taken the time to read my work. It may well be the worst selling e-book of all time, but that hasn’t stopped me from, once again, “putting one foot in front of the other” and creating this official website, along with a bunch of official merchandise.

I get that not everyone will be interested in reading a sci-fi story about a young man with mental health issues and a flying car, so merchandising seems like the next best way for the word to get out there.

Having lost my brother to depression, and watched the world become a seemingly scarier and scarier place to live in, my aim with all this is to try turning the tide of fear, and hopefully inspiring others with the notion that brains seen as being not-quite-right may just be the ones that make the biggest difference.

From here onwards, whenever you question your brain's coping mechanisms for maintaining mental health, I just want you to remember, there's always Tom Miller's Star-Born Universe.
